The Worldwide Optometry Community is Set to Gather Virtually for the Screening of the Documentary, Open Your Eyes. Tonight, Tuesday May 26th at 8PM EDT. The film shines a light on the important role of the Optometrist as an integral part of healthcare. It highlights the importance of Optometric testing of the eye in thwarting the rise of 300 systemic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, myopia and Alzheimer's which can be identified through an eye examination. "The film w...ill make the profession look stronger than ever and enlighten the public to the far-reaching technology optometrists now have in their hands," says storyteller and host, Kerry Gelb OD. I have yet to see the film and, although Optometrists do have access to Colorimetry technology in the UK, it is not as well supported (yet) in North America, and likely not mentioned in the documentary. However, we have submitted our formal MDEL to Health Canada to bring the technology to Canada so our Optometrists can soon add this to their testing technology. We will be closing the Opticalm clinic until April 6th. During that time we will still be processing and tracking orders and responding to inquiries by phone, email and fax. While response times will be a bit slower we will get to each one of you. We appreciate your patience. Be safe, be well, and be positive. The Opticalm Team

So many colours and so many people helped. This album is to showcase the great combinations of fashion and function. There is no one colour or one saturation of colour but each one individual. (I think I need an instagram account!)

Special Delivery just in from Wuhan City! While I am sure that any potential virus did not make it through the voyage, it doesn't hurt to be careful! My team set it out for me to open - with some assistive tools. The item was ordered before Christmas and was sitting at customs in Vancouver for a few weeks. I am actually happy to finally have it. It is a light box so I can take better photos of the great precision tinted lenses we provide our clients. Take a look at our photo album, I have added a bunch of new finished glasses, including this great pair of Burberry frames.

This morning when signing in to my computer, this image came up - my first thought was it was a brain as I had been reviewing articles in the Brain Injury Journal last night. It is a waterfall, but you can't fault my first thought! So cool to think that these images, so far away in reality, can look so similar - perhaps it is Mother Nature's brain! Oh, and the article I was reviewing was on visual stress and the effectiveness of precision tinted filter on post-traumatic brain injury. Wow, this email was a great way to kick off the weekend, especially after the stressful week that just passed. This client came by bus from 5 hours away to get assessed for her persistent post-concussion symptoms. "I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! I received my glasses this morning and oh my gosh what a difference even in the short time I've been wearing them today! Thank you so much for all of your help! I had to write to tell you I already notice a BIG difference!!!!!"

Proud to announce that Opticalm is supporting Brain Injury Canada as a Bronze Sponsor. We have enjoyed our past involvement with this great organization and look forward to much more involvement in the year ahead. There is so much more we can do to help individuals with brain injury and disease and the work that Brain Injury Canada is doing is making a great difference.
