Our Members and Friends of Optimist were able to volunteer 36 hours last week to the Salvation Army Kettle Program. Also with the help of the OLG we were able to continue our sponsorship of the Value Influences and Peers program with CKDSB and CK Police to grade 6 students in Chatham.

THANK YOU Optimist lance for assisting with Supper delivery to Hope Haven Chatham's Men's Homeless Shelter. All 12 beds are full tonight and food programs in Chatham have decreased to two. Church Ladies were in making Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches for lunch distribution on weekend. Places to congregate like Tims and library are closed. Let's Pray for decent weather. The Optimist Club of Chatham became aware of the urgent need for some of our fellow citizens. Accordingly we have allocated two thousand dollars to the followin...g: Twelve hundred dollars to the Salvation Army Food Bank, four hundred dollars to the Chatham-Kent Womens' Centre, and four hundred dollars to provide two meals for the residents of the Men's Mission. Due to the Pandemic closures and restrictions, our fry truck, which is our major fund raiser will be out of operation until further notice. Thank you to our fellow Optimists and volunteers for stepping forward, and to Riverview Gaming Hall for their generous support.
