Well a new week is beginning!!! 2 for 1 hard ice cream cones all week!! As per the recent update from Sask. Health it sounds like the global pandemic has come a bit closer to home . It has officially been reported by sask health authority that a business in the community has had a possible covid 19 exposure. ... We are definitely relieved to report that we are not the business in that report...but we feel a large amount of sympathy & anxiety none the less. We want to make it known that; we fully trust and support this local business. We trust that they have went above and beyond in dealing with this event. We encourage everyone to Please Please Please, continue to support & shop at their locations!!! To aid in keeping our staff and customers safe we have elected to add a few safety protocols. Things such as more stringent mask protocols, increased disinfecting of frequent touch points, & close monitoring of customer symptoms/hygiene will be ramped up. Note we will also be closing our doors on Tuesday to rearrange some equipment. As ice cream season ends we need to take a day or two to get things back in order. We apologize in advance for this. Our group at The Optimist Eatery & Cafe believe that this virus is real, and that it is harmful. With that said we also see how isolation, fear and stress have caused a mental health crisis of similar magnitude. With safe practices in place and appropriate conduct, The Optimist intends to remain Open. We believe it is still in the best interest of the economy & the mental health of most. Businesses such as ours should do what we can to keep people employed and give guests a small piece of normal life .... it has been an ugly financial stretch, but we still intend to invest for a while yet, and with the support of the community we hope the investment pays off in the long run. And lastly, for those who chose to read this until the end.....don’t forget to be honest and kind. The symptoms of covid are bad.... but the guilt that people feel because they have covid can be just as bad. Covid was going to come here eventually, the odds were certain. Regardless of that fact; there is little doubt the individual with this first rumoured case feels terrible that they were the first..... but it could have been anyone of us, so please be kind, supportive and send some kind thoughts their way!!

Last week Our team at The Optimist Eatery & Cafe our personalized Redvers Rockets Masks!!! This mask fundraiser was a great idea put forth by the Redvers Minor Hockey Board. They still have masks available information can be found in the picture. Hopefully the recommendation for continuous masks will not become a long term thing; but if we have to wear them we may as well where the team colours!!!...
