Greetings! It's lovely growing weather right now, a perfect mix of warm weather and moisture. Ready at the nursery this weekend is the mint as well as a second seeding of basil and the last of the flowers. And tomato plants are half-price! Open Friday 2pm-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm. Located at 103121 Alaska Highway, 10mins west of Haines Junction, just past Bear Creek Logging, on the right. See you there!
Greetings! What beautiful growing (and transplanting) weather this is, despite the minus one the other morning. Once plants are established in their new spot, you can practically see the daily growth. I've got a few more flowers ready to go at the nursery this weekend. Open Fridays 2pm-7pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm. Located at 103121 Alaska Highway, 10miins west of Haines Junction, just past Bear Creek Logging, on the right.
Greetings! Here we are, June 5 and the full moon is tonight ~ the weather should change for the better now, despite the couple of below zero temps we had the last few nights. The next few days are perfect transplanting weather: cloudy and warm with a bit of rain forecast. Ready at the nursery this weekend are herbs (thyme, oregano, cilantro, dill and sweet marjoram, to name a few) and some more flowers: mignonette, evening-scented stocks, lavatera, alyssum and swan river da...isy, to name a few more! The nursery is open Fridays 2pm-7pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm. Located at 103121 Alaska Highway, 10mins west of Haines Junction, just past Bear Creek Logging, on the right. Once again, it will be a different weekend at the nursery as I won't be there. We are still required to isolate due to our return from Vancouver. It is still frustrating and difficult for me to do this during my nursery season and I will miss chatting to all of you about your growing endeavours! Fortunately, the nursery will be well looked after by Sylvie and Joanne and you will find one of them there this weekend.
It's perfect planting weather out there, slightly overcast and warm at night, but I would still recommend covering plants until after the full moon (which is June 5 this year), just in case. (It is the Yukon, after all!) Ready at the nursery this weekend: broccoli (3 different varieties), cauliflower (white and purple), cabbage (red and green), kale (2 different varieties) as well as a bunch more flowers: tithonia (mexican sunflower), calendula, french marigold and ice plan...t, to name a few. The nursery is open Fridays 2pm-7pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm. Located at 103121 Alaksa Highway, 10mins west of Haines Junction, just past Bear Creek Logging, on the right.
