Organix Concerts 01.11.2020

It is with great sadness that the organ world has lost one of its finest musicians. Jane Parker Smith (70) died on June 24 in the UK. She was an ORGANIX CONCERTS alumnus, having opened the ORGANIX 13 series in a Gala concert May 8, 2013 at Metropolitan United Church in Toronto. Jane was a formidable performer and we were all totally in awe of her musicianship and stunning technique, particularly with the pedals. We will miss her. May she Rest In Peace.

Hello friends. Nothing much has happened. The churches are all closed and so are the concerts. The ORGANIX CONCERTS presentation at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate in Guelph, Ontario tonight, featuring Rich Spotts continues to be cancelled. I hope that perhaps this concert and next month's Giulia Biagetti concert that was also scheduled and remains cancelled can be rescheduled. For the time being, all ORGANIX presentations are cancelled. Keep safe! Keep well! Gordon

I regret to announce that ORGANIX CONCERTS is suspending its concert series while the pandemic exists. It is a challenge for all producers and most especially for me. However, it is more important to protect the health of the artists and the general public. Once the threat caused by the virus passes, then the concerts will resume. Keep well and make request of organ music on your classical radio station or on the New Classical 96.3FM. Sincerely,... Gordon See more

A friend is wishing to sell a 6’10 Blüthner Semi-Concert Grand. It is in impeccable condition, just 20 years old. Normally well into the six-digit price range when new. However, as they say in the real estate world, this seller is motivated to sell. If you or institution have $ 40K and are seriously in the market for a spectacular hand crafted German piano, then message me privately and I will give you the details. The seller is in Toronto.

I invite you to see the wonderful promotional video here featuring the Legendary Xaver Varnus in performance at various significant venues. The video is exciting and motivating and I hope you will be so moved to purchase a few tickets to his upcoming concert at All Saints Kingsway on April 26, 2020. Ticket purchase is handled a little differently with this concert. However, you can still get to the correct place by going to the ORGANIX CONCERTS website. You will then be redirected to EVENTBRITE. You can return to ORGANIX CONCERTS and purchase concert tickets for all of the SPECIAL PRESENTATION SERIES events. But first, do get your tickets to Xaver's concert. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dknaNwQTZ6s

Yesterday's very well attended ORGANIX Kingsway concert performed by Christopher Dawes was a unique ORGANIX CONCERTS event. Exceptional repertoire coupled with Christopher's original narration of a fictional character traveling across Europe by rail and writing letters home describing his trip and his experiences in searching for pipe organ's at every stop on that journey from Westminster Cathedral to Istanbul and ending home at Vienna. The music related to what would have be...en heard at each stop. All fiction but wonderful programming. Collaborating with the music and the storytelling were photographs of trains, courtesy of long-standing ORGANIX enthusiast, Clayton Langstaff. Clayton, a gifted amateur photographer has a particular fascination and passion for trains and train travel. Each picture was exquisite and became the impetus for Christopher's unique program. ORGANIX CONCERTS continues to offer exceptional programming and in it's 15th year of continuous concerts by Canadian and International artists, each one is designed to inspire. The next All Saints Kingsway lunch time concert features the brilliantly talented Andrew Adair on February 19, 12:30 - 1:15. For details about this or future concerts, go to ORGANIX CONCERTS website: www.organixconcerts.ca

David Baskeyfield closes off the 2019 ORGANIX CONCERTS Kingsway lunch time series this coming Wednesday, 12:30 - 1:15 at All Saints Kingsway. It has been an eventful year full of spectacular concerts showcasing the magnificent organ at All Saints in west Toronto. I am grateful to David Baskeyfield for agreeing to travel north from Rochester to perform for us, substituting for Jean-Willy Kunz who could not come to Toronto this time. I am also grateful to Montreal's Canadian International Organ Competition organization for their support of this concert. For program details, please go to the ORGANIX CONCERTS website: www.organixconcerts.ca
