I have been pushing successive Government of Jamaica since 2002 to establish the first ever Diamond Trading Centre of any significance in the Western Hemisphere, this was even before Dubai and recently Panama get involved in the trading of Diamonds.. This entity would name the Caribbean Diamond Trade Center (CDTC), this would be an economic game changer for Jamaica and the Caribbean. No other country or island in the region has the infrastructure to make the impact that Jamai...ca would have on the region if located in Jamaica. No other country or island in the region has the affinity that Africa the largest continent of Diamond production has to Jamaica. The strength of the relationship between Jamaica and the African Diamond producing nations,could make Jamaica the envy of the world if a Caribbean Diamond Trade Centre is located in Jamaica.
