Meet Makena! Makena is a Grade 11 student at New West Secondary, where she is a member of many clubs. Makena is a talented singer, and has entered competitions and taught in musical theatre. Meet Maggie! Maggie is a Grade 11 student at NWSS. While Maggie participates in a diversity of activities and interests, her favourite sport is soccer. Since participating in May Day as Register Bearer in 2015, Maggie has continued to be involved in the festivities. With a long family history in New West, she appreciates and understands the history and uniqueness of our community, and looks forward to bringing her social personality to her role as a Hyack Ambassador. In times like these, we try our best to keep a little sparkle While we were unable to have our usual Gala to say farewell and thank you to our 2019 team, we still wanted our girls to experience something special. Last week, they dressed up in sash and gown one more time, and were able to deliver some final remarks in a very small, private ceremony. Thank you to Queen Natasha, Princess Charissa, Ambassadors Meghan and Sasha, and Ambassadors Kate and Alex who were unfortunate...ly unable to attend. Meet Priya! Priya is an active and involved Grade 12 student at Burnaby Central Secondary. Priya plays many sports, and coaches youth soccer. She hopes to attend medical school in the future.
