At 08:40am, the Oromocto Fire Department received a call from a gentleman who was walking in the area of the Oromocto Mall. He noticed that some ducklings had fallen into a storm drain. Crews from the Oromocto Fire Department and the Oromocto Engineering & Public Works, Water & Sewer Department responded to the scene. After doing an assessment of the air quality in the pipes, it was determined it was safe for a member to enter and remove the ducklings. A total of 11 ducks wer...e removed from the drain and have been reunited with the mother in the Oromocto River. Another quick reminder to be alert and aware in the kitchen! It is very important to keep a lid nearby to help in the case of a grease fire. Time for tip #5! We all get distracted, using a timer while cooking will remind you to check up on your food every few minutes in order to prevent any fires.
