Oromocto Dance School 07.01.2021

Good afternoon Oromocto Dance School family. Please note that there will be no classes today, February 2nd, 2021, due to the weather and road conditions. Just a reminder, we factor two snow days into each year that you do not pay for and this is the first day we have had to cancel due to the weather. Please stay safe & warm today, we'll see you in the studio next week.

Dear Dance Family, Just a reminder that we are now on our holiday break. Classes will start back on Monday, January 4th, 2021. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. Please note, the fees for December were regular monthly fees even though there is a holiday break because we take your yearly fee and we deduct fees for the late start in September, the Chrismas break, March break and the short month in June (as we finish with the end of school). We deduct all of these w...eeks from your yearly bill and then evenly divide it amongst the 10 months we dance. So even though December seems like a short month, you have not been charged for the missed classes. We'll see everyone back in the new year (Week of January 4th, 2021). Happy Holidays, Roxane

Good evening everyone, The government has decided that Zone's 1 and 3 will be transitioning back to the yellow phase tonight at midnight tonight. If you have been holding off attending while we were in the orange phase, your spot was still held and you are welcome to come to class this week. Also, just a reminder that we are now in December, so December fees are due - please send your payments as soon as you are able to.... Have a great evening and see you in the studio this week!

Dear Oromocto Dance School family, As most of you are probably aware, the province of New Brunswick moved zone 3 into Red commencing today. Although schools remain open, gyms, fitness facilities, organized sport and dance studios are required to close. Since we are unsure of how long we will be in the red phase (though we suspect a minimum of 2 weeks), please regularly check this Facebook page for updates and, as always, you can call me at 506-262-7653.... A few important points: 1. The minute we go back into the orange phase (or yellow if it comes first) we will reopen. So for example, if the province announces on a Tuesday that we will go yellow at midnight, we will resume regular classes on Wednesday. 2. We will make up missed classes for the time we are in red. This way you will get full value from your January / February monthly fees. That means if you have not yet paid January's fee's, they are still due, please pay them as soon as you can, as it is now the 20th of January. It is vital that we get your support with making sure back fees and January fees are paid, as the financial challenges of operating during covid are real. 3. How will we be making up missed classes from January 20th until the end of red phase? A: Since you are not charged for March break (it is deducted from your yearly fees which are evenly divided between the 10 months that we dance), this is a week that could be used to make up classes. It works well because it is a week that you haven't paid for, as well as, a week that most people will not be travelling this year (due to covid). B: Our studios are also free on Saturdays from 2:00 PM onward and all day on Sundays - allowing us more opportunities to make up classes. C: Also, please keep in mind that in your yearly fees I have also deducted 2 snow days per season (2 days that you are not charged for), and thus far we have had no snow days due to a very mild winter. So we have these days that can also be factored into the equation as well, if the red phase lasts longer than expected. It is our priority to make sure you get the classes that you have paid for. I know moving from yellow to orange and red is no fun, but I know dancing/tumbling, even with all the changes and rules, is worth it. It helps with the children's mental health and the fitness aspect is always important. In addition, it offers the children a bit of normalcy during these stressful covid times. So please do not give up on dance as an activity. Please stay safe and see you as soon as we navigate ourselves out of red. Thank you, Roxane & the ODS Staff

Oromocto Dance School 12.12.2020

Classes that are cancelled today: ... 1:30-2:30 Beginner Tumbling 3:30-4:00 Tiny Tumblers 4:00-5:00 Vigor Flex All other classes this evening will run at their normally scheduled times. Just a reminder that while the dancers are considered to be in a bubble within their classes, wearing a mask is mandatory when entering or leaving the building as well as if you are observing a class from the hallway. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Dancers, Parents & Teachers, I wanted to reach out and make sure everyone is aware of the mandatory face mask rule while in Public Places, which includes the hallways in our building. Although, inside the studio, we are considered a daycare bubble and no masks are needed, masks are mandatory in the hallways. Please see the attachment that states the only exceptions to the mask rule (ie. children under age 2 are not required to wear masks). For everyone's safety, plus the f...act that businesses can get in trouble if their patrons do not follow the Covid rules, please make sure you are in compliance. Thanks so much, Roxane Carrier :) Oromocto Dance School

WORKING TOGETHER for everyone's comfort level with Covid 19: It's the beginning of the 4th week of our summer rec classes and we are learning lots about how to navigate through these Covid times. Somethings we are doing really well at and some things need a bit of work. It is really important that we respect everyone's comfort level with regard to Covid 19. So I just wanted to take the opportunity to report the procedures we are following and ask for the parents and dancers ...Continue reading

Hi Everyone, I have been answering hundreds of emails and messages since the new schedule went out a week ago. I wanted to let everyone know I am doing my best to reply quickly. Most of the messages and emails result in many more emails and messages, so sometimes a phone call is the best/fastest way to reach me. Than we can have a chat about the best options for your child and do your registration for the fall all at the same time :) My number is 262-7653 :) If I am teaching ...I can't pick up, bu,t, will see your number can call back. Also, if voice mail is full, I will still see your number and call back. Thank you in advance, Roxane

We know it is summer and you might miss a week or two for vacation (which is no problem at all), just note that the price will not be adjusted for missed classes. The costs holds your spot for your child whether they are able to attend or not (similar to day care). There are limited spots so please call me at 262-7653 or email me at [email protected] to reserve a spot. Please use the subject line SUMMER CLASSES so it can be spotted easily. SUMMER CLASSES BEING OFFERED: TUESDAY'S - Advanced Tumbling - 5:30-6:30 Studio B (Bigger Studio) Tiny Dancers - 5:00-6:00 Studio A (Smaller Studio) WEDNESDAY'S - Teeny Tiny Dancers - 6:00-6:30 Studio B (Bigger Studio) THURSDAY'S - Hip Hop - 5:30-6:30 Studio A (Small Studio) Beginner Tumbling - 5:00-6:00 Studio B (Bigger studio) KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE - We are following the very strict guidelines set by the government to ensure your child's safety while at dance. We are using Medical inferred no touch thermometers to check each child temp before being allowed to enter the studio. A child with the Covid screening score of 38 or higher will not be allowed to enter the studio. We will spray hand sanitizer onto the children hands upon entry and departure. We will wipe common areas like door handles, ballet bars (if used during a class), mats (if used during a class), bathroom sink handles and toilet handles between each class. Hi Everyone, I found out last night that we should be able to enter Phase 3 tomorrow (May 22). This a a bit surprising, as with previous time lines it looked like Phase 3 would come around mid to end of June. We are not ready to open tomorrow, as you all can imagine a day and a half notice is NOT enough to prepare for reopening the two studio's. I would also like to observe how reopening has an affect on any new cases coming forward (as it makes no sense at this point to ope...n and have to close a week or two down the road and reopen again later). The safety of your children and my instructors is the most important thing to me. I will review all the guidelines and have a strategy for reopening shortly. There is a possibility for getting back to classes for June 1st, but not tomorrow. Where we charge monthly fees too, a start of the month reopening makes most sense. If we are able to resume June 1st, we will. If not, the plan before (when I thought phase 3 was going to be mid to end of June), was to have a summer offering of a class of each style and age group. Summer classes would be July and Aug. There would be a class for Teeny Tiny dancers, a class for Tiny dancers, a Hip Hop class, a Tap & Jazz class, a ballet class etc... I am so excited to know that we will definitely be able to have our FULL OFFERINGS (plus maybe a new class or two) for the FALL. I am finishing up the fall schedule and should have it ready to post by June 1st. I am also getting our competitive teams sorted for the fall. So if you have a dancer who is interested in trying out for competitive, we will be doing private auditions (just your dancer and an instructor) in June. So please reach out for an audition day and time. Please note if your dancer is already in competitive they will not need to try out. They have their spots. Also, If I have already indicated tp you that your child has been identified for competitive, they DO NOT need to try out. It is just dancers who would like to be competitive that we were not aware of. Updates on if it will be a June 1st or July reopening will be posted shortly. Thanks so much everyone & cheers to Phase 3 :) Roxane Carrier

STUDIO UPDATE CLASSES AND FEES We are now two weeks into our government mandated closure and have been reviewing news releases and information regarding COVID-19 daily. Since this is so unprecedented, we have been careful to not make judgements too quickly, while still complying with government set regulations and always with the utmost consideration for our dancers, families and instructors. We will remain closed until we are directed by the government that it is safe to r...eopen our studios. We do realize that many families are facing layoffs and financial hardship in this time of crisis, therefore, we will not be sending out invoices for April (or the following months), while the studio remains closed. Once the studio is able to reopen, if there is still time left in the season, we will resume classes and pro-rate for any remaining time. There are many families who have not paid for March's fees (as well as many who still owe for January/February) - If you are behind on fees, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use this opportunity to get caught up as the studio will have zero income over the upcoming months. Please feel free to reach out at anytime if you have any questions or need updates between posts. Roxane's cell number is 262-7653, you may call, email or facebook message her at anytime. She will do her best to get back to you in a timely fashion, but please be patient if she doesn't reply right away. Thank you, Oromocto Dance School
