July 1st means hammers down for the summer on many of the Gulf Islands, including Pasley. But our intrepid clients show that just because your cabin isn't complete, doesn't mean you can't take it for a test drive, especially in this kind of weather!

A visit to the Chilton-Greene Residence on Pender Island - this project turns 20 years old this year, and remains as impressive as ever. Nestled into the site, the house sits on the edge of a steeply sloping bluff, and opens up to a breathtaking view of Boundary Pass and the American San Juan Islands to the south. With a series of large sliding doors, the building dissolves the transition between indoor and outdoor, essentially becoming an open entertaining pavilion.

Before Osburn/Clarke was designing houses and cabins, Osburn and Clarke collaborated on the BC Pavilion exhibit at #Expo86. A week yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of the world's fair in Vancouver, so we'll be digging into the archives and sharing the highlights. Here's an early sketch of what would eventually become a huge, hand-painted animated relief mural of the province!
