Today is World Kindness Day! At a very young age, my parents had always instilled the value of kindness. Since then, I’ve learned that kindness is reflected in many different acts shown to others, to self, and to the environment in which we live. We may not always recognize the acts of kindness we so naturally show to others and how those acts of kindness can positively impact someone’s life.... My father is a frequent blood and plasma donor. I remember going to the blood donor clinics with him as a child, watching him donate blood. His acts of kindness shown through donations led me to donate when I became of age and continue to do so as an adult. This is a special gift of KINDness I am receiving today acknowledging my donation and support for the Canadian Blood Services. A sincere thank you to @kindsnacks and @canadaslifeline, who have partnered to celebrate World Kindness Day by sharing these custom kits of KIND goodies. Thanks to dozens of blood donors in Canada and her stem cell donor from Germany, Elsa Norton is full of life and energy. She’s now in grade 6 at school and love...s to dance, longboard, play soccer, hang out with friends and perform in plays. Every day when Scott and Nadine Norton look at their 11-year-old daughter Elsa, they are grateful to the dozens of blood donors and the stem cell donor who helped her beat bone marrow failure. We are living proof that blood donations and signing up to join the stem cell registry could save a life, says Nadine. Without Elsa’s blood and stem cell donors, she would not be with us today. Today’s donation event in #Lindsay is in honour of Paisley. Paisley was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this year and has needed nearly 20 blood transfusions since her diagnosis.
