Our archival content creator interviewed the 86-year-old on his devotion to OL...Continue reading

I would like to thank everyone who attended last evening’s virtual Annual General Meeting; despite the ongoing pandemic it was assuring to see the level of engagement and support for our theatre. At the meeting, elections were held for Board vacancies with the following results: Vice President - Shane Kelly ( 2 year term) Treasurer - Pam Mansfield ( 2 year term) Secretary - Shirley Stefaniuk ( 2 year term)... Education - Roz McArthur Keyes Patron Services - Judy Bannon Directors at Large - Moe Charland, Alison Irons Along with President Tristan Smith and Executive Producer Michael Schneider, this will constitute the Board for the following year. I wish to thank everyone who put their names forward for election and hope that they will continue to be enthusiastic participants in the months and years to come. I would also like to thank outgoing Board members Kim Beaver, Steven Fraser and Justin Milner for their dedicated service to the Board. In the weeks and months to come we shall engage with you to the goings on and our plans for eventually re-opening; if you have not already done so, then please subscribe to the theatre’s Face Book, Twitter, and You Tube channel as Kathryn Fraser, our archival content creator, will be posting content in the days and weeks to come that is of interest to the membership. On the meantime I hope you remain safe, healthy and in good spirits. With hopes of seeing you all again at our theatre, Michael Schneider Executive Producer & Past President

Dear Members and Patrons, As this unprecedented time in our history continues, we certainly hope this email finds you and your family well and in good health. Normally we would have been half way through the run of our first show in the season and although we here at OLT have been missing the opportunity to gather together, rehearse and perform, what we miss most is having you, our faithful audience members, in attendance at the theatre. Although it seems highly unlikely tha...t we will be able to gather in the theatre together any time soon, the business of operating and maintaining our theatre and facility must carry on. One of the important tasks is the Annual General Meeting which the Government has allowed corporations to conduct virtually during the pandemic. On Behalf of the Board I am inviting you to attend our Virtual AGM to be conducted via Zoom on Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00pm. If you wish to attend this virtual meeting then I ask you to please email me at [email protected] and you will receive a link as well as pertinent documentation on November 9th . As Tristan has indicated previously, we have extended all valid memberships for the 2019-2020 season to July 31st, 2021. Anyone who holds a membership is eligible to vote at the AGM, however patrons and subscribers are certainly allowed to attend. If you are not a current member and wish to become one prior to the AGM to participate more fully in the proceedings then please contact [email protected] and inform them of your intent. This year the Board has the following positions up for election: Vice President (2-year term) Secretary (2-year term) Treasurer (2-year term) Patron Services (1-year term) Education (1-year term) Director at Large (1-year term) Director at Large (1-year term) As we navigate the troublesome current of Covid 19 we will require the assistance of our best and brightest to ensure the OLT survives and is able to return to presenting Outstanding Live Theatre for the Durham Region. I encourage anyone interested in standing for a Board position to email me at [email protected] by Friday, November 6th along with outlining which position you are standing for. Once again, we on the Board offer you our best wishes for these times and we look forward to seeing you at least in the virtual sense on November 10th. On Behalf of the BOD Michael Schneider, Executive Producer
