President Russell M. Nelson has issued a couple of challenges today; please see this special message!
The Oshawa Stake recently hosted a virtual Concert of Remembrance.
Milk left out. Beds unmade. Toothapste in the sink. Rooms a mess. Laundry on the counter. Lego battles assembled and terrifying to try to move past. I really st...ruggle to be grateful for these things. But today when I walked around the house (and put the milk back into the fridge, put dishes that I didn't use in the dishwasher, washed down a disgustingly dirty door handle, closed bedroom doors for the sake of my sanity...) I was quickly reminded that this is exactly the life I wanted. I wanted kids. And even more particularly, I distinctly remember saying a prayer in February and just asking for life. To slow. Down. For my kids to be home more. For all of us to have time to breathe. To live in this house. To enjoy being together and not running in a million different directions all the time. And that's exactly what I got. As my kids are getting older, I'm quickly being reminded that one day, I won't have to put the milk away. I won't ask people to flush the toilet. I won't go on a mad hunt for the kitchen scissors. I won't wipe down walls, and door handles, and bathroom sinks and countertops and the fridge and the stove and the oven and the inside of the microwave...I won't clean fingerprints off the glass. I won't look at piles of laundry falling out of the dryer and left all over the counter. When I think of that, my first instinct is to celebrate. I literally think that I CANNOT wait for that day. But in reality, I am living my best life right now. It's exactly the life I dreamed of when I was young. My kids are my best life. And if that comes with a little chaos, then I guess I'm thankful for that too. #givethanks See more

Even in 2020, the Light of Hope still shines bright. Let’s light the world this Christmas!
The President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Russell M. Nelson, has invited us to share our gratitude with our friends on social media for ...the next 7 days. As a member of the Church, I'll start by saying that I'm most grateful to have gained the peace that comes with a knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This peace makes me happier and has allowed me to better deal with life's challenges, including some of the more difficult challenges like the death of a parent. I know that life is eternal and that we will see our loved ones again. There isn't much we could know that could be more important than that! That's why I'm so grateful for it. See more
Hi everyone! Today I am grateful for the Christmas season where we dont only get to reflect with our family and friends about the year but also remember the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. John 3:16 #lighttheworld #givethanks
Several youth from the Oshawa Stake recently joined with others in the region to create a special virtual choir, singing the traditional EFY Medley for a regional fireside.
#givethanks I didn't get an opportunity to post this on Saturday as I was out of town but as I thought throughout the day what I wanted to express gratitude for... I realized that I wanted to express gratitude for movement. Physical movement, spiritual movement, emotional and mental movement. I am grateful that even though my physical movement is compromised, I can still move. I can still walk with aid, I can stand and reach and still do so much more than some people can and for that I am grateful. Spiritual movement allows me to grow and develop and to become closer to my Heavenly Father and Yeshua. I am grateful for those relationships and the opportunity to continue to develop and become closer to them. Emotional movement that is allowing me to heal, to forgive and to try and become a better person. Last but not least, mental movement that is allowing me to choose how I deal with the stress of the situation we are all finding ourselves faced with. I can choose and for that I am grateful. My dear friends, the challenges that we face as fellow global citizens are immense, but our ability to feel hope and seek healing in Jesus Christ remains strong.... I have felt impressed to share with you a message on November 20, 2020, from 11:00 to 11:15 a.m. MST. It will be broadcast here on my Facebook page, as well as on ChurchofJesusChrist.org and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints YouTube account in multiple languages.
#givethanks day 2 I'm so very, very thankful for these monkeys. They came and gave my life complete and utter purpose. This is my absolute favorite picture of t...hem together. When Holly gets home from her mission, I am going to get them to recreate it, only they'll be looking way up at Stephen now! Even Holly has grown from this pic, but Summer, alas, remains the same ;).
