The Seed Lending Library needs your Seeds! Thank you to everyone who has donated seeds to the Seed Lending Library. Since April of 2015 we have distributed over 2700 packages of seeds! As your gardening activities wind down for the year please consider saving your extra, non-hybrid seeds for the Library. We are now accepting seed donations to make available in 2021. Please see our website or drop by the Library to pick up a brochure, that outlines the seed saving process,... and seed saving envelopes. *When dropping off your seed donations please include your name and phone number, and as much information about the seeds as possible, such as variety, planting and growing advice, botanical name if possible, and plant description. Seeds should be less than 2 years old and ready for us to package. Thank you! For more information contact Carolin at 519-376-6623 ext. 214 or [email protected]

Poem of the Week. Ah, family... As a kid, I couldn't live with 'em, but I sure as heck wouldn't have lasted long without 'em.

#StaffPickSaturday #staffpicks The Book of Eels: our enduring fascination with the most mysterious creature of the natural world by Patrik Svensson "A mystery we can’t solve? A question with no answer? A puzzle with missing pieces? Despite my initially squeamish reaction, to the eel, Patrik Svensson drew me into the story of this endangered species, and its perilous and difficult journey of survival. The Book of Eels is a combination of natural history, memoir, and the explor...ation of origins. The eel has enthralled and perplexed philosophers, neurologists, and marine biologists from the past to the present. This fascinating animal, with its unknowable nature and hidden origin story, makes me hope it can surmount the odds and rally for its survival." - Cvitka This book is also available as an e-book and e-audio book. New books waiting to be processed and put into circulation. We took this video a few weeks ago, but this is what it looks like in the book processing room pretty much every week. So excited every time a new box is opened - can’t wait to see what’s inside and waiting to go home with someone. #osngupl #newbooks #newbookstagram #librariesofinstagram #librarylife

Coming up this Thursday, November 19 @ 7:00 pm join us for a Virtual Author Visit with Marg Heidebrecht, author of In the Shade: Friendship, Loss and the Bruce Trail! Join us via Zoom for a reading and discussion with Marg Heidebrecht, the author of In the Shade. Heidbrecht’s book is about the connection that’s made to the earth and each other when we go outside and walk. The author and her friend hiked the Bruce Trail end-to-end, in chunks over 4 years. Other trail guides describe the route, the terrain, this book describes the inner journey, the strength, the resilience, and the friendship that developed.
