You've undoubtedly already taken the boat out once or twice, but what are you doing to for maintenance? Here are a few things you may want to take the time to double-check: - Inspect all your safety gear - fire extinguishers (are they still pressurized?), flares, life jackets, first aid kits.... - Check for excess water in the bilge. - Make sure there are no fuel leaks. - Make sure there is no water in the fuel filters. - Always use fresh fuel. - Double check the working condition of all the lights on your boat. - Double check to ensure the battery is secured tightly. - Check for any possible electrical issues - ie: loose / corroded / disconnected conductors. - Insurance up-to-date?
