Today's speaker was Marta Prowse of Young's Insurance. She told us about the importance of tenant's insurance. What we all learned is tenant's insurance is particularly important for people who are thinking about buying their first home. There are a number of insurance companies that don't want to insure people with no history of insurance. If you buy your first home and have never had tenant's insurance, it reduces the number of choices you have for insuring your first home.

Chris Genova Mortgage Services is telling about how lenders are getting more conservative in lending. One key for getting loans is to not use all your available credit. For example, if you have a line of credit and/or credit cards try to keep your balance below 60% of what you could borrow. If you're constantly up near your maximum that can reduce your credit score. Another virtual meeting of the Owen Sound Referral Club. This week's featured speaker is Al the Sharpener. He's presenting about shears. He told the story of one stylist who was thinking about retiring because of back and shoulder pain. She purchased new shears from Al and after the first day of using the new shears she was pain free. His shears also need sharpening less frequently.
