Thank you so much to our Excellence in Education Committee for all of their hard work and CONGRATULATIONS to all of the winners!
Mourn for the dead. Fight for the living. On the National Day of Mourning we remember those who were killed or injured at work. COVID-19 has highlighted health and safety in the workplace like we’ve never seen. But we can’t forget that workers are going to be affected by this virus for years to come. Take a minute today to email your MPP to demand better safety measures in our schools and in all workplaces; the most impactful would be paid sick days for all workers. Find their contact information here: https://www.ola.org/en/members/current/contact-information
After this year we could all use a boost! Take a few minutes to nominate an Terrific Teacher!
A good summary of the announcements this afternoon. As soon as there is details or more information from SCDSB we will share with all members.
With almost a million vaccines sitting in freezers, why is it only education workers in hot spots being prioritized. Just because an area of the province is burning more than another does not mean that there is not a fire that needs to be put out in our own backyard. All education workers in this province should be given the opportunity to register for vaccines next week.
One of D17s very best! Mr. Malandrino has earned this year’s Distinguished Teacher Award because of his incredible dedication to his student’s wellbeing. We especially love the shout out to his whole team. Educators won’t survive this year without each other. #OSSTF #OntEd.

A statement on the recent edition of Professionally Speaking.
Teaching may not look anything like it did at this time last year, but the work our members are doing to support kids is incredible. We will get through this by supporting one another.
