The OTS Student Design Challenge 09.09.2020

On January 18th and 19th, University and College students from across Ontario were tasked with designing a space for the YMCA of Greater Toronto that utilized recycled rubber products. It was the team from U of T that came out on top, presenting a striking and functional design that effectively addressed user needs.

In 2011, the Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) challenged landscape architecture and design students to re-interpret a community space at the Evergreen Brick Works using products made from recycled Ontario tires. The winning design was implemented on the site in the summer 2012, and is enjoyed by thousands of visitors who frequent Evergreen Brick Works throughout the year. We are excited that this highly acclaimed event is coming to Toronto. To celebrate, we are helping a Facebook friend attend the Greenbuild Expo for FREE!
