The Ottawa Muslim Women's Organization - OMWO is deeply saddened by the latest shooting incident in Atlanta, US. Eight people, including six Asian women, were killed by a white person who had a bad day in Police Officer Jay Baker's words. We offer prayers and sympathies to the families of the victims and the larger community that is impacted. We denounce violence in all its forms and are reminded that racism has no place in our homes, schools, places of worship, streets, pub...lic and private institutions. O humankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). The Holy Quran, Chapter (49) srat l-ujurt (The Dwellings).
