Hi All As of Monday the entrance gate to The rugby park will be locked. If you are a member and want the combination, please email me at [email protected] Thanks
The target archery field is now closed for the winter. The 3D range and practice butts remain open. Thanks Matt Hogan for getting that done!
Matt is looking for a couple volunteers to help him put away the target archery field for the winter, either this Sunday or next weekend. Please email him directly at [email protected] if you can help out!
Hunting season has started- a member has noticed geese hunters in the field beside our target field and shooting up and towards our area. Please be careful and aware. There is nothing we can do as it’s legal for them to hunt there but we don’t want any accidents so be careful- maybe wear orange if you’re out there?
Whoever ‘borrowed’ the Pronghorn target from Lane 3, please return it ASAP. It was donated by a member too. I’d hate to think we have thieves in our midst...but it looks like we may have to install some cameras out there. Please don’t be a POS, leave things as you find them. The range is for all members to enjoy, not to stock your backyard!
Please avoid lane 11, apparently we have a widowmaker hanging over the lane and it could drop anytime. We’ll try and get it cleaned up, but better safe than sorry!
Just a reminder- our September tournament is canceled due to Covid. I know Archery Canada hasn’t updated their site, but it’s not happening. Next spring!

Anyone waiting on membership cards- I’m mailing 8 new ones tomorrow. I’ve been away, sorry for the delay! Oliver and Scott Denyon, I received etransfers but no paperwork yet. Please send ASAP.
Upcoming tournament
I understand the road is all fixed now. Can someone please post some pictures here next time you're at the range?
We have heavy equipment coming to the range today to start work on the road! PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE UP TO THE RANGE TODAY! If you are in the way, they won't be able to get the job done for us.
Today was supposed to be our spring tournament, but since Covid19 has prevented that from happening, we just want to send out warm wishes to all of our members and archery friends that you are all safe and hopefully we will be able to see you all in September for the fall shoot! Stay safe, and keep shooting!
Whoever has been using the target archery field as a golfing range, PLEASE STOP! This is not allowed, and if the lawn tractor hits a golf ball, quite dangerous. We’re an archery range, not a driving range- take it to the appropriate place please!
The range will reopen on Sunday May 24th for members only. Shooters must be in groups of 5 or less, and must maintain the 2 meter physical distancing as required by law. This may mean leaving a shooting lane between groups if there are others at the range. Pull your own arrows.... Bring hand sanitizer, and use it often. Parking must be in the Rugby Club parking lot- NO driving up to the range. We still need to fix the road, so please respect that. If there is a vehicle parked up at the range, it is because we needed to bring up tools for maintenance.
We’ve been given the ok by the city to do range maintenance in preparation for reopening . There are several trees to be cleared before it is safe to shoot, and we’re getting gravel to repair the road. Please be patient, but we will hopefully be able to reopen in a couple weeks. We will publish some guidelines shortly as to how that will happen.
Well, not only does the range need some repairs, but we have been informed that we cannot open the range due to the Covid19 virus for the foreseeable future. So we’ll keep watching and see when we will be allowed to reopen. Please follow the directives to stay home so we can all get out later! Stay safe everyone!
