COVID-19 has compelled organizations to evolve. A leader in this regard has been Somerset West Community Health Centre. SWCHC continues to provide much needed support to the community over the phone and online via live streams, web meetings, and sharing resources for the difficulties that can arise for some as a result of staying home. The work SWCHC is doing is so important and very much appreciated, especially in times like these.... ______________________________________________________ For #throwbackthursday we would like to share these photos of the bright and airy 6000 SF renovation Bradford completed for SWCHC in 2013-2014 which included renovation of the existing 2-storey wood-framed building to create office spaces and exam rooms. Construction challenges include abatement, building age (original building constructed in 1920's with many subsequent additions and renovations), abatement new elevator. Work done to Green Globes standard.

Here is a sneak peak at one of the many beautiful architectural features at the Carleton ARISE building. These precast ductile concrete stair treads were poured for the feature stair case by the wonderful team at m3béton who thoughtfully mixed this custom colour that will preserve the memory of the building's gold exterior after it begins to darken. More photos of the ARISE building to come!

Bradford is proud to be a part of the City of Ottawa Rosemount Library Revitalization project. We are currently a few months into this renovation which focuses on preservation of the building’s heritage character, while extensively revitalizing and refreshing the facility. The project includes 150 square feet of additional public space, in the form of a glass reading room addition off the main library space, increasing the size of the front entry, adding public seating, and... creating a visual connection between the revitalized building and the community. The new glass addition will feature a new rear exit stairwell and lift. We are addressing building condition, safety, accessibility, building code deficiencies, improving efficiencies of operations and use of space, increasing public floor space, opening more windows for added natural light, improving seating options, upgrading finishes, further enhancing the historical character and adding sustainability features.
