Are you watering the flowers in your garden? Are they getting enough nurishment? Or are the weeds taking over and leaving the beautiful flowers to wilt away? It's easy to for those prickly weeds to grow, but is that the sort of garden you want?

We had such a wonderful zoom New Year party! Thank you to all our staff and spouces for joining in the fun! I thought I'd post our appreciation awards. They deserve all the recognition in the world for all their hard work!! Below you will also see the scores of our online game (I lost ) - Julia Appreciation Awads (alphabetically) Jillian: Our cool cucumber Jillian always stays calm in high stress situations. Her calm demeanor reflects to both our clients and other team membe...rs! Take a deep breath cause this is a chill space! Melanie: Paperwork Ninja. We already know she's a great therapist, but have you seen this lady's speadsheets? Client notes? Reports? They can only be explained by nija like qualities! Mindy: "I got this" When Mindy started with us, it's as if she's always been part of the team. There is no doubt that if a baby aligator came around she'd know what to do. Thanks for stepping up like it's no big deal! Shayla: Dream Big. Shayla can make the metaphorical sky light up. If you had doubts, she knows how to make you love your big dreams and see the path to achieving them. Her clients always leave inspired! Shelli : Catalyst, maybe with a pinch of evil scientists? When you think something needs to be done, it's already done and filled away. Is it a 9 or an upside-down 6? Do you know... cause Shelli knows. Mind-reading powers? Yeah, probably. Thank you Team! You are truly amazing!

On the evening of Thanksgiving when I went to bed I noticed one of Kestrel's socks on the bathroom floor. I decided not to toss it in the hamper but instead see... how long it would stay there, sort of a sociological experiment. Today, a week later, it remained, so I decided it must be intentional and deserved recognition as such. I made this little label hoping it would motivate her to pick it up. Oh no. She sent me a text message asking if I had done it. When I got home she said "I made a pedestal for it!" She gamed my shame. I figured as long as it was on display, it deserved an audience so the barnyard animals arrived. They find it very fascinating. ****** * * * Update below ****** Hi friends. I've received a lot of very sweet messages from folks saying they both laughed and were touched by The Forgotten Sock. My daughter and I have a wonderful, communicative relationship. We are very silly together and understand the importance of being ridiculous and absurd. I honestly did not except this post to go viral - it was just another silly thing we did. Many people have said "make a book!" or "take advantage of this viral post!" I thought about that and, well, I don't really want to make a book and I don't really want to take advantage of this in any personal way but what I *would* like to do is say if this moved you or made you giggle in a way that felt really good and that you want to give something back, a donation to this amazing organization called Jumping Mouse Children's Center would mean a lot to me. They do play-based therapy that changes the lives of children who have experienced trauma. They rely partially on community donations to keep therapy accessible to children in need. Here is a link to their donation page if you are so inclined. You can even make your gift In Honor of The Forgotten Sock. https://jumpingmouse.org/donate-ways-to-give/ **** Update #2, Mon Dec 14 14:59:36 PST 2020 The donations for Jumping Mouse have now passed $10,000 and 318 donors from at least 11 countries around the world! I am absolutely floored. My heart is singing! Thank you, truly, to everyone who has been a part of this. See more
