We’re delighted to introduce our 2018 guides! Brad Wiebe is an historian turned (accidental) public servant. Graduate of Carleton University’s Public History program, developer of the Histories of Parliament Hill podcast, and former Tour Guide at both Parliament Hill and the Legislative Building of Manitoba, Brad seeks to engage members of his community in discussions about how we can learn from history to enrich our ideas about ourselves and about our future. #Ottawa #walkingtour #citizenship #charterofrightsandfreedoms #humanrights

Have you met our guides? Sarah Gelbard is part anarchitect. Part punk planner. Challenging us daily to question our assumptions about architecture and urban planning. Currently pursuing a PhD in urban planning, Sarah is interested in both how we shape our cities and how our cities shape us. Her research focuses on placemaking by alternative and marginalized groups in the city. Her impassioned defense of #OttawaBrutalism shares a tangential but related sensitivity towards the unpopular, the unloved, and the overlooked spaces in our city. Sarah is also the Ottawa editor of Spacing magazine and blog. She’s leading a walk next Saturday afternoon: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/ottawa-detours-brutalism-large-
