What a special birthday for a very special member. From a life spanning the early 1900's to today AND a successful and well-respected member of the community in general and the business community in particular. Dr. Roly, it's a privilege to have you as an ongoing and active member of the Ottawa Executives' Association. Wishing you a very, very happy birthday today.

One of the things that's been particularly noticeable as we've been navigating our way through this pandemic is that there's always a member willing to extend a hand to anyone who needs it. Now, this has always been true about OXA since it was founded in 1936 which, if you remember your history, was a time when businesses were trying to emerge from the Great Depression. Similar story, different times.... In other words, the Ottawa Executives' Association was built on the will to pull together, to be that extended hand for its members - the hand, and voice of experience. And once again, we're doing what we came together to do, to offer experienced support, advice, and exchange business in a challenging economic climate. True then, true now. OXA. Great presentation by Will Pearl, owner of Stevens Creek Shutter Company. What a tribute to their attention to detail and customer service that in these challenging times they've actually expanded to serve their customer base better. They nailed it when it comes to the climate of "Buy Canadian" - their focus is on Canadian paints and other products. Right on target. Colour matching? Rowena Pearl is deadly accurate for colour matching - even better than the machinery designed... to do that - ask for Mrs. Pearl's Peepers!!! In addition to paints - it is a design centre - Stevens Creek Shutter Company also repairs blinds, and can manufacture valences for your window treatments. Although the initial focus is residential, Stevens Creek is working with municipalities and larger commercial contracts who are switching over to them on the basis of their quality. Fun fact 1: did you know there was a paint for chicken barns? Now, that's knowing your products. Fun fact 2: Will's father, uncle and grandfather have all been in the drapery business - now that's a lot of knowledge passed down, for sure. Thanks so much Will and Rowena. Great virtual tour.
