When you do family history, you can find out many details of your ancestors lives. Here is a copy of a grandfather's attestation paper when he signed up to enter World War 1. This is the type of information you can obtain when you take up the #FamilyHistoryInvitation President Nemeth put forward at the last Stake Devotional. While we all remember this week, let's find out some specific details of our ancestors lives. Share your stories with Ottawa-Gatineau Latter-day Saints.

The invitation has been sent from the Russell M. Nelson, President of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints to the world to: 1. Turn social media into your own gratitude journal and for each of the next seven days, post about something or someone you're grateful for using the #GiveThanks hashtag. Invite others to do the same. 2. Say a prayer of thanks. With all the chaos around you, it can be hard to recognize the hand of God in your life. Take a moment to reflect on your blessings and kneel in prayer to thank Him. Gratitude brings even more blessings. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/givethanks?lang=eng

Knowing you are loved can help your overall well being. As David David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said: "May every spouse, every child, and every parent be blessed to communicate and receive love, to bear and be edified by strong testimony, and to become more consistent in the seemingly small things that matter so much." How are you painting your picture of love? Show the ones you care for that you love them. #WellnessWednesday

All needs to be well with our souls. On this #WellnessWednesday, recent comments by President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides some of that solace. In addressing a small gathering of BYU students, President Oaks indicated that black lives matter should be a universally accepted message. #BLM https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org//president-oaks-b

President Terry Nemeth, Stake President of the Ottawa Stake challenged members in the Ottawa-Gatineau region this morning to turn their homes into family history centres and research and prepare 1 family member name for the temple. He promised that blessings would come to those who participate. "Your homes will be strengthened. Aspects of your life will improve. Your testimonies and understanding of the gospel will deepen and strengthen."

Ottawa-Gatineau Latter-day Saints 27.06.2020

Create places of security--home is the first line of defense, then stake and then temples. A place of security is a place where you can feel the influence of the holy ghost. Prepare your mind to be open to God. Our spiritual foundations must be solid. Book of Mormon is our Latter-day survival guide. Never stop preparing. We have so much to look forward to. Future will be glorious for those who prepare. Embrace the future with faith.... President Russell M. Nelson during Women's Conference Session

Ottawa-Gatineau Latter-day Saints 25.06.2020
