Happy Diwali from the OKFB! Anu from Food for Thought came by today to see the fabulous Creative Kosher Catering meals we were able to deliver to our clients thanks to the funding they provided us. Of course she couldn’t help but lend a hand! At the end of the day, her son Aniket came in to make a donation of his own to the OKFB in honour of the holiday of Diwali. And her husband Abhi, who works for Rideau Rockliffe Community Resource Centre jumped in for a picture. What an amazing family! Shayna used some of her bat mitzvah money to fund the project and cooked with her mother, Dina Blum, in Ottawa Torah Centre’s kitchen. We got a donation of milk from Loblaws this month so here’s our recipe of the month! Making oatmeal with milk instead of water is SUCH a game changer! And it also adds some more protein to your breakfast! I usually prefer my oatmeal hot but I tried these overnight oats the other day and they were so yummy! I topped mine with chia seeds, sliced almonds, and berries but you can put whatever you have on it or just eat it as is.
