FUNDRAISING STARTS HERE! 2021 marks the second year in which runners and walkers will take to the streets, paths, trails, and treadmills to participate in Canada’s largest virtual running event: Tamarack Homes Ottawa Race Weekend featuring Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon! Each participant has their own goal, reason, story and motivator. In 2020, participants raised $419,141 for local charitiesan outstanding number considering the circumstances. This year, let’s surpass that amoun...t. The impact COVID-19 is having on charities and their clients is overwhelming, and they need our help. This is your opportunity to use your run or walk to make a difference. Every dollar counts. The Scotiabank Charity Challenge offers a free fundraising platform which allows you to raise funds and awareness for an organization that is meaningful to you, to someone you love or to someone you don’t even know, someone who benefits greatly from the services it offers. Every dollar collected goes directly to the charity thanks to Scotiabank. BONUS: Any participant who raises over $500 for their charity receives a FREE entry for 2022. The Bytown Team Challenge: In support of The Ottawa Hospital - L'Hôpital d'Ottawa, is the newest event to encourage some team-building fun for your workplace, with your friends, or classmates, all while fundraising for a great cause. There are three prize categories for teams: Teams with 6 members or less Teams of 7-10 members Teams of 11 or more members... Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraising teams supporting The Ottawa Hospital, in each of the three categories. You and your teammates will be challenged to complete three distances: 2k, 5k, and 10k, for a total of 17K each, while competing against other teams to raise much-needed funds for our front-line heroes at The Ottawa Hospital.
