We post this recovery in hopes of a stark reminder to all drivers of why it's so important to pull over and rest when your feeling tired. On October 25th at around 2 am we were dispatched by OPP to begin recovery operations on the 417 EB lanes between Hunt Club & Anderson. We were told the driver had fallen asleep after some extensive driving, luckily he survived the incident with a few broken bones. The cab was sheared from the frame of the truck due to the impact while the ...trailer was able to be recovered with no further damage. A major fuel spill did occur that was quickly handled by an environmental team. We are thankful the driver survived this incident and hope it can be used as a reminder or warning to other drivers. A big thank you to our staff here at Ottawa Metro Towing for handling this call in a professional manner and always being ready to answer the call whatever it may be. As well we would like to thank the OPP officers on Scene that made the conscience decision to close the highway giving our staff a safe working environment to get the highway cleared and open as fast as possible. For all your Towing needs We are one Call away 24/7 365 days a year 613-731-1936. See more

A reminder of why it's not a good idea to cut off larger vehicles. This incident was a big mess Team Metro recovered after a driver was cut off and landed in this unfortunate situation a few weeks ago at Innes 417 EB. The truck was carrying mail. It was a great team effort to sort the mail getting it back on route immediately as well as recovering the units and getting the highway back open. Thankfully there were no major injuries, Great job Team Metro!
