With the challenges of this pandemic, it is important for us to continue to find ways to remain connected during this difficult time. The importance of recognizing our limits, taking care of ourselves & others and reaching out when you need help, are just some of the steps you can take to make positive change and help overcome the stigma of mental illness. Today, Bell Canada will donate five cents for every text, phone call, tweet, etc. using #BellLetsTalk. Let’s take the ti...me to reach out to our teammates, families and friends by text, call or through social media and join the conversation. In response to today’s initiative, The Ottawa Ospreys RFC has organized a social this evening on Zoom 7PM (PM for details), this is open to all members if they’d like to stop in for a chat and catch up with your teammates and alumni! You are not alone in this battle, we are #withyou.

Let’s work on improving our strength and flexibility with some Yoga! It’s an excellent combination of physical activity and mental calmness, that we can begin to manage our anxieties, reduce stress and become more focused on being present in the moment. Add some yoga into your evening routine by checking out the below yoga activity from Lululemon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kl_DxglATI

Tuesdays rugby practice at home is from Rugby Coaching TV and it will focus on hand eye coordination, accuracy, catch & pass and your hooker throw! All you will need is a rugby ball (or you can use a soccer ball) and a wall at home. Take about 20 to 30 minutes to work on these skills and try to schedule this into your weekly at home rugby activities. Today is #GivingTuesday, which is a global movement to encourage individuals and communities to join together and give to those in need. This year, to respect the Ottawa Public Health Guidelines, we are encouraging our members to find ways to give electronically to organizations within their communities. One local charity in need is the Kanata Food Cupboard. The Adopt-A-Family Program is currently collecting online donations to help support local families this holiday seas...on. These donations go towards holiday meals, Christmas goodies and treats, toiletry items or presents for family members under the age of 18. If you are able to support this local fundraiser in support of the Kanata Food Cupboard, please submit your donations by December 14th (https://www.canadahelps.org//adopt-a-family-christmas-2020/). #givingtuesday #ottawaospreysrfc #KanataFoodCupboard

In response to the recent press release from the Provincial Government, the Ottawa Ospreys RFC Executive will be suspending outdoor rugby practices for the remainder of the season. The health and safety of our athletes, coaches, and all members’ families, is our top priority. With the alarming increase of COVID-19 in the Ottawa region and the surrounding areas, we feel this is the safest approach to ensure we are all able to enjoy rugby in the future. We understand this is ...a tough time for everyone in the community and we hope that we can all continue to support each other, so we can safely get though this time. If the outbreak is under control within future weeks, we will be looking into indoor training options, when it is safe to do so. Should you have any questions or concerns in regards to this decision, feel free to reach out to our executive members: https://ottawarugby.com/about-us/club-contacts/ #saferugby #benchedbycovid #safetyfirst #takeabreak #ottawaopsreys
