FOR ANYONE WITH CENTRAL AIR It’s warm enough today to test your air conditioner and make sure it is still in good shape and running properly after the winter. Make sure you remember to take your A/C cover off and change your furnace filter before you start it up. We highly recommend you do this as early as the temperatures allow.... Unfortunately, most people wait until it’s hot and then everyone finds out they need service at the same time. Finding out if there is a problem early, ensures any parts you may need replaced are more available and you get a service appointment quickly.

PLEASE BE AWARE! I just received a call, to my home, from a local HVAC company that has indicated that they are offering a HEPA air filter program, that they are affiliated with Enbridge, and that these HEPA furnace filters will protect you from COVID-19. THIS IS NOT TRUE!... Furnace filters DO NOT clean your air, they are only designed to filter particles from the air before it goes into your heating system. They ONLY protect the heating/cooling equipment, not the homeowner. Furnace filters do not have a seal, of any kind, to prevent air particles from passing around them and using a HEPA filter in your furnace will NOT prevent COVID-19 from travelling through your air system. In fact, using a HEPA filter in your furnace will only cause it to block faster because it will be filtering smaller particles than it needs to, to protect the equipment. You will be paying a lot more money for each filter and you will have to change it more often than a regular furnace filter. It’s just a bad idea. There are currently ZERO furnace filters available in the HVAC industry that will protect you from COVID-19. Please don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.
