Looking for male Standardized Patients (age 40 to 60). Must be available to work on weekends in October. What is an a Standardized Patients (SP)?... SPs are healthy individuals trained and paid to portray the personality, history and physical findings of a real patient in a clinical setting. We provide training and a script to learn your role. SPs must repeatedly and consistently present the given script exactly the same way for every candidate in a realistic manner. If this interests you, please message us and we will send you an application. See more
Looking for MOMS! Are you looking for extra income? Are you looking for a break from the kids? Are you between the ages of 21 & 35? Are you interested in health care? You may be a good fit to be a Standardized Patient for our program! We work at the General-CHEO campus, 451 Smyth Rd. We find most of our new SPs through referrals from the folks already working with us. But we are trying to grow our list of young moms. ... What does an SP do? Basically, you get a script/case, learn/memorize it, and role-play or act it out consistently with a medical student or medical Candidate during their learning & Licensing exams. It may or may not involve a bit of homework. It always involves 1 - 2 training sessions where we go over the script, practice it, then we do a ‘dry-run’ or a dress rehearsal for 1 hour with a doctor who will make sure we are standardized to others in our case & have all the proper symptoms or answers so to speak. The day of the exam, we play the role repeatedly with each of the Candidates (medical students). Nothing is ever invasive. We administer evening & weekend exams. We cover parking, we feed you on exam evenings & days. Exams pay between $17 - $22/hour. Being bilingual is an asset but not a requirement. Most exams are in the Spring & Fall, busy times for moms, so you can understand why we need lots. It is a way of helping to shape our future medical providers! If you are interested in becoming part of our Standardized Patient Program at the Ottawa Exam Centre, please call Vikki at 613.562.5800 Ext. 8067 for an application, and she’ll place your contact info onto the database.
