I'm really good with other cats, both male and female...I grew up in a cat colony, so I'm used to having all kinds of friends! It would be best for me to l...ive in a home with at least one other cat. I'm also VERY playful, especially with toys that rattle, foam balls, and a laser pointer. I think I'd be a wonderful pet for someone who is patient and loving! My ideal owner is someone who is willing to touch me everyday and pet me for increasingly long periods until I trust you fully! Many of you will remember Reebok, who was rescued in May of 2020 from the Montreal area. He had severe inflammation of the skin on all four paws - likely as a result of frostbite or infection from old wounds. He had puncture wounds around his neck and legs and a large patch of skin was torn off one leg. OSCATR took him in and nursed him back to health thanks to the financial support of a large group of friends of the Rescue. Today we're thrilled to share that Reebok has been adopted by his foster family, who after caring for him for months, just couldn't bear to part with him. We couldn't be more thrilled that Reebok's story finally has its happy ending!

Welcome to the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue Fall 2020 Auction! It is no secret that it had been a tough year for fundraising for all charitable causes and Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue (OSCatR) is no exception. So we are thrilled to offer this auction, just in time for some online pre-holiday shopping! It meets so many great criteria---raising funds for a good cause, shopping locally, supporting small businesses, saving cats and more!... We have kept the auction process simple---no need to register or provide personal information. You just bid on the original photo and if you win, we contact you for pickup. Easy-peasy! All items have been generously donated by volunteers, supporters, or friends and family of the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue. Please consider visiting some of our generous business partners! They are being very generous in tough times. Here are a few Need-to-Know details: 1. The auction begins as soon as it is posted on Wednesday, October 28th 28020 and closes at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd, 2020. Bids need to be placed by 5:59p.m (EST). 2. Bids can be placed on any item by typing the amount of the bid in the Comments section of the photo. 3. October 29th PURRfect Pick Update!

Happy Gotcha Week to Trek, now Hyde! Trek was found at the Lees LRT Construction site as a kitten. He was adopted two years ago this week and is now known as Hyde. His adopter had this to say about Hyde and her experience with OSCatR: He's a phenomenal cat. I was amazed at the adoption coordinators who were able to recommend him as a companion cat for our other kitty, who was lonely. He's everyone's best friend.

I’ve adjusted faster than my mom to our return to indoor life after five months outside, and love soft blankets and Tilda tummy time, where I lay on my back and lick my foster mom’s hand while she pets my stomach. I have a bit of sass and like taking control of situations. When my foster mom holds her hand out, I use her to scratch ...my cheeks by showing her just where I want her to touch. I’m becoming more playful, but so far my favourite toys are the coffee table legs and scraps of tissue. I would like a new family who let me set the terms but are happy to give me lots of attention. ********* FOSTER NOTES: Tilda, our teenage heroine, is increasingly affectionate and adventurous. She is very (comically) quiet, kind of like does pretending to whisper when she meows at you. Tilda is incredibly gentle, though she will occasionally hold part of your hand in her mouth without biting down. She runs away when there is sudden movement or loud noise but is increasingly quick to come back out. Tilda would be okay being adopted alone, as she likes having her own cushions and blankets and swats when her mom tries to share. She already likes sharing a room with humans and has lap cat potential. ********* OTHER NOTES: Tilda is litter trained and untested with dogs and children. DOB July 31, 2017 Adoption Fee $165 ********* MY STORY: I’m the reason our foster mom calls my daughter and I the Ladies - because I’m so gentle and beautiful, and always curl up to supervise the action instead of getting involved. Compared to my daughter I'm quite chatty, though I'm usually talking to her or grumbling as I wander around a room. I was rescued with my daughter after five months outside, so I'm very cautious and prefer small, ...soft spaces and spend most of my time napping there. However, I’ve started gaining the confidence to check things out in the rest of my foster home, and tolerate attention-- if you move very slowly, I'll let you pet me while I purr like mad. Sometimes, I’ll even nap on the cat tree while my foster mom is in the room! This is a big step for me, because I usually like to let my daughter Tilda take the lead and the attention while I hide under the sink or in my carrier. I cry when I'm lonely so I'd love to be in a home with a social cat. ********* FOSTER NOTES: Rebecca came in with her daughter Tilda, but should be okay separately as long as she has cat company-- it's a one sided love situation. Rebecca chats quietly but isn’t sure she’s ready for a lot of human attention and will still run away and hide when startled or afraid. She has literally never made an aggressive move towards me. She would be happiest in a home with a friendly cat but where no one will chase her-- so no excitable dogs or children, or you’ll have adopted a ghost cat! She’s currently not a lap cat but I can see her being more affectionate once she’s had lots of time to settle and build trust in you. ********* OTHER NOTES: Rebecca is litter trained and untested with dogs and children.
