Hey Neighbours - it's a beautiful day out there, you should come for a walk to the Little Library. Did you know that the Little Library has a special section of oversized books and periodicals under the roof? Just lift it up and be surprised. There's some fun stuff under there. Oh, and thanks to the special person who dropped off a book about humming birds just in time for the hummingbird migration. They are on the way! Get your feeders ready!
Valentines is coming fast, and we're all stuck at home. It's hard to think of things to do this year. But here's an idea, you can take the person you love for a romantic walk to your neighbourhood little library. We even have icky, smoochy love stories (if you're into that).
So uh, have you baked any COVID Cakes yet? Yeah, today seems like a good day for cake for no reason. If you see sticky notes on/in the books in the library, have no fear. We're going to track the ones that aren't going out and start trying to swap them out for other titles. And of course, as always, we love it when people add personal touches to the books they read, so feel free to add a note to the next reader if you borrow a book. Stickies are great for this too!
So there are a couple of oscillating tools out in the Little Library "end table" right now. Here's the deal... 1. Rockwell unit - it's a corded tool, so it's more powerful than the other one, and it actually works really well. The issue with it is that the toll holder on it kept slipping/releasing the tool. It's actually really good for small/light jobs like drywall and pine, but using it on hardwood trim in a century home was not fun. 2. Rigid Unit - this guy is cordless, ...and the battery, charger, and motor all work great, but the tool holder on it is just a machine screw. That screw has seized and I can't get it to release. If you are good with a drill and an easy-out this may be great for you. OTOH, if you need a rigid charger or battery or motor unit, you can use parts off it. Like I said, the tools are out there in the library. First come, first served. In case you forgot, we're at 117 Frost Drive, come by, grab a tool, and grab a book. See more
Every now and then a book pops into the Little library that I really hope finds the right person. There's one out there like that right now. "Enough" is a book about finding your personal best place to be - that zone between not having what you need, and not being burdened by carrying too heavy a load. The space between too plain and too fancy. The space between a family lining up in the hallway to brush their teeth and always having bathrooms to clean. This book has meant a lot to a lot of my friends. I hope it finds a person who is seeking their own "enough" and that they enjoy it. Don't be fooled by the plain cover. It's what's inside that counts.
