Remember to slow down when passing emergency vehicles. This motorist didn’t. Not only is failing to slow down dangerous, it can also be very expensive. #ouch #CRSW2021 #NotWorthTheRisk

Rhubarb Water for noon time break. Rhubarb chopped (maybe 1 cup) with maybe 4-6 cups of water. Bring to a boil, simmer 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool, strain and refrigerate for a refreshing drink. #scotiandiet #localandorganic

An off-duty RCMP officer and a retired RCMP officer rescued a fisherman from St. Margaret’s Bay after the fisherman’s boat capsized. On May 15, 2021, shortly af...ter 1 p.m., Sgt. Rick Plume and his wife, Cst. Lisa Spracklin, who is a retired member of the RCMP, were out on their sailboat near Clam Island in St. Margaret’s Bay. They were making their way back to shore when they noticed a man in a small fishing boat, who was frantically bailing out water. As Sgt. Plume and Cst. Spracklin neared the man, his boat began to capsize. The man was able to grab a life jacket just as he fell into the water. Sgt. Plume and Cst. Spracklin began navigating toward the man, who was now trying to swim to shore. Cst. Spracklin extended their boarding ladder to him, and he was able to grab hold of it and, with some assistance, was pulled into Sgt. Plume and Cst. Spracklin’s sailboat. Sgt. Plume and Cst. Spracklin provided the man with a warm jacket and helped him out of his wet clothing, as the water was still very cold. In speaking with the man, they learned that he had been out fishing mackerel when his boat began taking on water. Sgt. Plume and Cst. Spracklin dropped the man off at his truck near Boutiliers Point, as he did not seem to be experiencing any serious effects from his time in the water. Thanks to the quick thinking and action taken by Sgt. Plume and Cst. Spracklin, the man made it safely back to shore that day. File # 21-56967

Ready for a bonus throwback Thursday? Earlier today I posted about Queen Annapolisa VX and the princesses touring around in brand new Hudsons in 1947. So whe...re did they stop? At the Stile of course! As you can see the Gaspereau Valley was filled with apple trees in bloom that day. Great place to stop, take in the view and pose for a group photo don’t you think? While I know that Gladys Miller of Annapolis Royal was the Queen, I only have the names of the princesses and I can’t match them to their faces. Shelagh Balcom - Wolfville Jean Munro - Windsor Isobel Banks - Middleton Barbara Underwood - Digby Blossom Matthews - Berwick Barbara Bligh - Kentville Ruth Clark - Port Williams Marion Taylor - Hantsport Ruth Schaffheitlin - Canning If you can help me out let me know! I’d appreciate it.

Your gangster name is the color of your shirt and the last thing you ate. What's your name? Mine is sky blue banana. Your gangster name is the color of your shirt and the last thing you ate. What's your name? Mine is sky blue banana.

As of today, Jan. 28, Nova Scotia has 11 active cases of COVID-19. No new cases are being reported today. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the co-opera...tion and willingness of Nova Scotians to follow the public health protocols. I thank everyone for their patience in abiding by the restrictions we have in place to protect each other’s health, and for the collective effort to contain the virus.
