WANTED!!! LOGO for the Labrador Pioneer Footpath The Labrador Pioneer Footpath is a hiking trail system that extends from L’Anse au Clair to Pinware and was constructed some years ago under the leadership of the Labrador Historical Development Corporation. The trail system follows the foot paths used by early settlers and related to activities such as hunting, fishing, and to connect with surrounding communities. While the trail system is owned jointly by the municipalities, ...two years ago the Southern Labrador Development Association was authorized to proceed with a project to upgrade and extend the trail to Red Bay. Along with other upgrades, signage that informs and directs residents and visitors to the trails will require significant improvement. Also, a LOGO that represents the historical significance of the trail will be very important in promoting the trail. Therefore, SLDA is seeking suggestions and conceptual drawings of a LOGO that can be placed on signs that can represent the Labrador Pioneer Footpath. The LOGO must be simplistic in design, as most good logos are, and demonstrate a true Labrador flavour. For example, choice of colours and examples of marine and terrestrial resources common to Labrador might be a consideration. There are no restrictions on size or format and entries are open to all ages. The Pioneer Footpath Committee will determine which entries qualify for consideration and prizes of $100 will be awarded to top three selected. Note that determinations of best entries may be based on conceptual design more so than quality of drawings.
