On this Transgender Day of Visibility we wants to give a Prince George Hell Yeah! to all the Transgender people out there being who they were created to b...e. Your courage gives us all courage. In honour of this we've posted a Naming Rite developed by Nadia Bolz-Weber, with some great edits by Leo Bancroft on our website under the LGBTQIA2S+ section (link below). This naming rite is a way for the Christian community to acknowledge, lift up and support their transgender siblings in Christ. Jesus shines like a beacon atop the high mountain while former prophets appear. The disciples are terrified, but also want to live this moment forever, making the glory-filled rock face their home. At once a cloud descends, obscuring things further, and God’s voice echoes down, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved, listen to him!’ (Mark 9:7). It’s almost as though Jesus had exhausted all efforts to get the disciples to listen, and God had to spectacularly reiterate the importance of listening. I think it’s important to note that following God’s words, all the disciples could see was Jesus. from the artist statement for Transfiguration by Lauren Wright Pittman | A Sanctified Art LLC

All The Same by Hannah Wingerter. A contemporary hymn/song that celebrates LGBTQIA2S+ identity and invites us to be who Jesus calls us to be. Recorded at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Prince George. "Thank God that you didn't make us all the same."
