First photo is from the north end of the east side looking over towards thorah second photo is woodland drive looking over towards strawberry. First photos a good deceiving one. Looks like lots of ice but reality is most of that’s just floating there with snow ontop. Second photo there’s no ice the whole north end blew out of orillia and is sitting in the centre of the lake. That’s a good thing. Now the centre grounds have ice and just the bays need to freeze tonight I think simcoes going to lock tonight hopefully it doesn’t blow open again.

Can I go ice fishing under Stay-At-Home Order? Several recreational amenities remain open including ice fishing. Just comply with all provincial health directiv...es when participating in outdoor activities such as maintaining physical distance. The 5 we kept of the 65-75 we caught today. Hit the water at 10am finished by 4 it’s been an amazing last 3 days in the boat with these guys. Truly a great opportunity to learn new things and just to have a good time in the boat doing what we do best

The huts getting put to work!

Unfortunatly I have not found many more permanent huts so here’s another trip I will be offering. Portable fish hut rentals for pike on lake couchiching! Basica...lly how it works I will drive you out to the spot that I know has pike regularly and it will be up to you for the day to catch them. All the spots will be sight fishing so it should make for an exciting day. Just like the permanent hut rental this trip will also be $50 per person for the day. See more
