Great news! The popular Trestle Trail Bridge in Liverpool will reopen on Tuesday after several weeks of repairs and upgrades. Well done guys, this is a great Christmas gift for outdoor enthusiasts in Queens! Photos of the bridge below were taken in the fall of 2019. #hikingtrails #regionofqueens #railstotrails #trestletrail
Hiking is a great way to explore Nova Scotia. Here are a few hiking packages to consider this fall. #hikingadventures #hikingnovascotia

A right whale story with a happy ending!
New data shows the population of North Atlantic Right Whales is on a path of destruction. Only 356 animals are expected to be left by the end of this year, down from 409 animals in 2018! So sad!!
Don’t forget to set those clocks back one hour tonight as Daylight Saving Time ends! Couldn’t come soon enough for me!
Planning a weekend away? This is the perfect place to stay!
And speaking of trails, have you noticed the ’boulder art’ near the entrance to the Trestle Trail in Liverpool? Self-taught painter, Michelle Arnold who lives adjacent to the hiking trail has painted several large boulders with colourful marine scenes. Michelle says everyone seems to enjoy her art and that she hopes to paint several more of the large rocks before winter. Michelle is orginally from Milton and moved back to Queens County a couple of years ago from Brampton, Ontario. Welcome home, Michelle!
Well, I have to confess that I have never hiked the Franey Trail in Highlands National Park, but I will, next summer. It is on my bucket list of things to do over the next couple of years. It is an amazing trail, that is even more amazing in the fall! Thank you Bill and Henri Wilcox for sharing a few of your favourite photos from your recent tour of Cape Breton Island. Wow! #capebreton #franeytrail #nstrails #hikingnovascotia #nshikingtrails #hiking #highlandsnationalpark
