This year for giving back to the land we helped @meewasinvalley remove invasive species nodding thistle from the Northeast Swale. Nodding thistle can dominate in disrupted soil and in native grasslands. It is more difficult to manage than other invasive species because cattle and sheep won’t graze it and very few things eat it. Thanks for contributing your energy toward swale conservation today ODS.
The Men who paint take us on a tour of Mirabelli Lake Outpost via Missinipe and the Churchill River. The flight footage and plein air painting scenes are fuel for your summer adventuring dreams.
Take those screened out eyes outside for a break. Time in nature calms your nervous system while digital environments tend to stimulate, and even overstimulate it. Even chilling in a hammock and looking up at tree tops can do wonders as a brain break. Set a timer to remind yourself to change up your scenery. Wellness tip brought to you by Miles, chill champion.
Hello Saskatoon! Grade 10 students interested in hands-on learning with less stop-starting between subjects have one more week to apply for our school division's award winning programs. We are fortunate that these programs are available to the public, and we want to make sure word is getting out to all the students in the Saskatoon Public School Division who could benefit from hands-on experiential learning. Is this someone in your family or neighbourhood? Shoulder tap them and send them to check out Media School, HCAP and our own Outdoor School Program. These experiences are frequently transformative for students involved. We are here to answer any questions you may have. HCAP Program
Hey ODS Comunity, Take a look at the proposed design for the Kinsmen Riverfront trail and site in the Meewasin Valley and weigh in with your thoughts. It's a bit of a bottle neck with trails which run into the parking lot or end in stairs. Once you've watched the video, you can take a look at the information package https://meewasin.com//FAQ-Kinsmen-Riverfront-Primary-2020- and fill out the following survey to provide feedback (open until June 30th): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KinsmenRiverfront
