Good morning! In an effort to support social distancing Brokenhead Outreach for Seniors has made the decision to have me, Becky Reis, work from home until further notice. I AM still working and available to help where I can, while limiting contact with clients unless necessary. I will also be going to the office once a week in order to pick up anything you may have left for me. In the meantime please leave me a message with your name and phone number at (204) 268-7300 or email me at [email protected] and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Are you looking for a way to get involved and give back to your community? We are on the search for volunteer drivers to deliver Meals on Wheels. You can choose to deliver as few as 2 days every two months, or more if your schedule allows. Delivery is simple, is within the town of Beausejour and we make it work with your schedule! Delivery happens Monday through Saturday between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to a maximum number of 13 people. All you have to do is pick up the meals... from the hospital and deliver to the addresses given to you. Not only does Meals on Wheels provide food security to so many of our residents but some also look forward to the personal contact of having a friendly volunteer at their door up to six times a week. If this is something you are interested in getting involved with please get in touch with Becky at (204) 268-7300 and we will get you trained with one of our amazing volunteers!

Anybody out there that sews that might interested in helping the Stroke Recovery Association?? --- Forwarded message ----- From: "Stroke Recovery Association - Andrew" ... To: "[email protected]" Cc: Sent: Sat, 27 Oct 2018 at 6:00 AM Subject: Sewing for SAM Hi Everyone, Our Auxilliary group is looking for some seamstresses, seamsters, sewers you know, people who can sew. If you can sew, we got the material. We even have a machine for you to use in case you have the talent but not the tools. Our knitted goods are a large seller, but our tablet cases, potato bags, and other sewn items make up a good portion of the sales the Auxilliary Group generates, and we could really use some help. Give us a call here at the office(204-942-2880) if this strikes your fancy Thank you for your consideration Regards,

Are you feeling the effect of the winter blues? Feeling cooped up from all the snow and cold weather? Come on out to Beau-Head Seniors Centre every Monday at 10:00 am to get out of the house, meet new people and get moving at Qigong (Chi-Gong) and chair exercises taught by our wonderful volunteer Sarah. There is no cost to anyone who attends and there is no commitment required! The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and en...hance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions. Those who maintain a consistent practice of Qigong find that it helps one regain a youthful vitality, maintain health even into older age and helps speed recovery from illness. Western scientific research confirms that Qigong reduces hypertension and the incidence of falling in the senior population. One of the more important long-term effects is that Qigong reestablishes the body/mind/soul connection. People do Qigong to maintain health, heal their bodies, calm their minds, and reconnect with their spirit. When these three aspects of our being are integrated, it encourages a positive outlook on life and helps eliminate harmful attitudes and behaviors. It also creates a balanced life style, which brings greater harmony, stability, and enjoyment. With no cost and no commitment what do you have to lose? Come on out and give it a try!
