Spot the difference - comment if you spot it but don’t write the answer! Same archer, same weekend, one photo taken Saturday, one photo taken Sunday. What’s different?

Kong Targets at OutsyderHQ. Bit of an "unboxing"/ first impressions review.......... We've seen Kong Targets around for a couple of years now, the detail on them has always impressed me and it's always nice to see something a bit different from the usual Rineharts/Delta Mckenzies which dominate the courses around here.... As they're a relatively new target available to us, it will be interesting to see where they stand in the long term, however the Canadian distributors are very confident in them and assure us that they stand up to the use and abuse. We picked these 3 (Otter, black fox and bobcat/rabbit) in Lac la Biche along with another 3, larger ones for our club here in Kamloops, and now we'll see how they go on and plan on updates later down the line. Having checked them out (thoroughly) before dropping our own dollars on these, we were happy that the investment was going to be worthwhile. We have bought cheaper 3D's in the past for ourselves and, to be quite honest they were crap! These are quality, from the material used, which seems up there with the better current brands top ranges, of which we own so we will be able to compare the resilience, to the detail, which I believe the Kong targets are the best. The features are just superb and the scorings rings are clear. I have heard a complaint in the past about the detail being so good that line cutters are difficult, but I will wait to see how that pans out. They don't have replaceable vitals either which is a nice things about some of the other brands, again we will see how important that ends up being. So far though, I like them a lot and am about to go and stick them for a bit, there'll be a good months worth of shooting before it gets too cold and dark around here. Was a good opportunity to sort out the home range too. See more

Update 4 of 4 3D World Archery Championships, Lac la Biche So..thoughts? Ok then!... Firstly, we had the best time, maybe even life changing and it’s fair to say that I am full of pride, admiration and fondness of all that went on in that magical week. Whatever happened, win, lose or completely crashing out, I was not going to get on here and make pitiful excuses for anything. I went there as well prepared as I could be, shooting well and ready but with huge question mark over if I could hold my head (and emotions) together as we went into the unknown, in an event of this magnitude, of which I did! Katie too, was absolutely in her element and loving every second of the experience. I wanted to earn the shirt and then do it justice, I am happy I did that. I surpassed what I could even think I could, even being the second highest score on the second day, I wanted to test myself against the very best and I know I can compete with them, never was I outclassed, not even closeso now I feel we are hooked, our plan was not beyond the 2019 World Archery 3D championships, now I feel this is the beginning, already looking towards Italy in 2021. Secondly, Rene Shaub is my hero! He oversaw the best imaginable event with the help of his many volunteers and the town of Lac La Biche. There were many veterans of many worlds and this was universally stated as the best one ever and as our first, we were told categorically that this was never likely to be bettered! So, our first and the standard was set very high. The work, attention to detail and smoothness of the event was evident everywhere. Rene deserves all the accolades as does EVERYONE who worked tirelessly to make it happen and keep it running like clockwork. We could all take lessons from these people on running events! Also, big thanks, big love to too many to mention.I’m not even able to mention the countries of all those we met in fear of missing anyone! However, all our love to our teammates, our manager, the organisers, our club and supporters, everyone we met, all countries, everyone we shot with, against and near. Everyone we hugged, high fived, shook hands, fist bumped or drank and clinked glasses with. All of those we traded pins, shirts and stories with, the bit players and everyone involved in the event and the town of Lac la Biche, if I missed anyone, I apologise. To our global archery Fam, we WILL see you again, to those who invited us to attend your national event, we will be there at some point.. Italy 2021 is already coming up in conversations. but for now it’s a break from bows, some hunting, fishing and quality time with the dogs beckons, diversify our lives for at least a couple of days!
