So, this is how Teak looked when we told her that we didn't make the final round of voting for the Country Music Alberta "Roots Artist of the Year". I guess growing the biggest potatoes in Alberta just wasn't enough:) We were actually very surprised that we made it as far as we did, as many people in Alberta's country music circles have never even heard of us perform together as Over The Moon. We're excited for next year though, as that will all change! This ...year, we have our team together with Laurie Brown and Porch Swing Entertainment leading the way, and Canada's great Borealis Records to get our new album "They Can't Blackout The Moon" out there in the spring. We are filming a music video in February for our first ever single "Lonesome Bluebird" with the wonderfully multi-talented Ken Stead at Ken Stead Productions Ltd.. Maybe next year at this time, Teak will be smiling:) We should also mention that our uber talented, singin' songwritin', story tellin' friend and band mate of mine in the Blake Reid Band, did make it to the final round. We would just like to thank The Medicine Hat Folk Music Club, Stir Studio and the Plugged In crew for hosting such a wonderful evening for both Sue and I, and even Teak (our furry road manager:) They made us feel totally at home and cheered us on after every song. Believe me, that helped a great deal when you're playing to an empty room and a bunch of cameras:) We'd also like to thank all the folks that watched the show from the safety of their homes and took the tim...e to post encouraging messages to us and the whole crew here. I think we made a whole bunch of new friends with this very talented and dedicated group that go waaaay out of their way to promote live music in their community. We are so looking forward to playing this live show for the Medicine Hat Folk Music Club. We've always wanted to perform there and Rob Pape (from the club) tells us this venue is a state of the art recording studio with a NEVE console!!!
