Please consider alternatives to gift wrap this holiday season. Make the wrapping part of the gift by using a scarf or package the gift in a reusable jar. When using gift wrap consider more eco-friendly options such as simple brown paper and add a little decoration. (Note: PAPER gift wrap and tissue paper is recyclable in our program).
#whatgoeswherewednesday - Holiday Edition! The plastic packaging, bubble wrap, plastic bag mailers and paper mailers lined with plastic must be disposed of as garbage - they are not recyclable in our program.

Find out how we turn all that leaf & yard waste into compost!
Plastic bags of all types are not recyclable in our program. So let's talk about REDUCE & REUSE. Avoid plastic bags by remembering your reusable shopping bags. If you have plastic bags, find ways to reuse them around your home or check with local thrift stores or community organizations - they are sometimes in need of clean plastic bags.
#WhatGoesWhereWednesday - Holiday Edition! Who has started their holiday baking? Did you know that PARCHMENT PAPER and WAXED PAPER can go in the green cart?
REMINDER: We are open WINTER hours which includes Saturdays, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The Hazardous & Electronic Waste Depot and Reuse Centre is also open!
Next week is the last special leaf & yard waste collection this Fall for residents in Town of Petawawa, The City of Pembroke and Township of Laurentian Valley. Leaf & yard waste will be collected on your regular collection day. https://ovwrc.com/leaf-yard-waste/
#WhatGoesWhereWednesday Holiday Edition! Do not place strings of lights in recycling. They become wrapped around our equipment causing expensive delays and breakdowns. Check with a local scrap metal dealer who may accept strings of lights and other electrical cords. If not, discard with regular garbage.
