The most important part of your hive is the queen bee!! Support a local breeding program and get the highest quality queens available in Ontario. ORHBS member.

Got some varroa counts from testing conducted in august on potential breeder queens for next season. Almost no mites! Very happy with these results as some hives were quite large and hadnt been treated since early june. Out of 9 queens tested over 60% came up group 1 and 2. Let's hope they make winter!

Heading on down south to waupoos! Still keeping bees in the north end of the county for making honey, moving queen breeding over to the new spot!

With the days getting longer it's time to plan for the upcoming bee season! We still have 10 extra mile nucs available for the 2019 season. These are 4 frame nucleus colonies with a locally raised Ontario queen delivered to your door early June. The cost is 225$ for the first one and 200$ for any additional nucs. Please contact us to reserve yours or if you have any questions.

Apologies to anyone trying to get some honey this last week. Im dealing with a nagging injury and its really slowed me down. Im hoping I will be back in action very soon to make some special deliveries! Thank you for your support! - Owl Farms Honey
