We Miss You Eastern Canada! This photo was sent in by Franzi, a tour operator based in Chester, NS, who had hoped to come rafting with her son this past summer. The Maritimes, like many places, were in their own bubble this year and therefore, the pair couldn't make it. However, we sent over a sweater to remind them that we're still here waiting for them. Franzi told us it's her son's new favourite sweater. We're so excited to have them, as well as their fellow Eastern Canadians, come in 2021!

Santa's Chocolate Chip Cookies Our chocolate chip cookies have been a long time favourite amongst guests (especially with a man that visits every December 25th)! READY IN: 30 minutes SERVES: 36 Ingredients... - 1 cup salted butter (softened) - 1 cup white (granulated) sugar - 1 cup light brown sugar packed - 2 tsp pure vanilla extract - 2 large eggs - 3 cups all-purpose flour - 1 tsp baking soda - 1 tsp sea salt - 2 cups chocolate chips (or chunks, more is better) Instructions - Preheat oven to 375 degrees F & line baking pan with parchment paper (set aside) - In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder. Set aside. - In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugars until combined. - Beat in eggs & vanilla until fluffy. - Mix in dry ingredients until combined. - Add 12 oz package of chocolate chips and mix well. - Roll 2-3 tbsp (depending on how large you like your cookies) of dough at a time into balls and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheets. - Bake in oven for approx. 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are just barely starting to turn brown. - Let sit on baking pan for 2 minutes before removing from cooling rack. Enjoy with close friends & family (or eat them all yourself, it's been a long year & we’re not judging)!

We have officially concluded our 40th season on the Ottawa River and one of the most interesting years to date! Due to warm weather and waters, beautiful fall colours, and exciting water levels, we have decided to remain open right up to September 20th! Our trips will run throughout the week and we will continue to adopt the social 'bubble' philosophy; meaning every group will receive a private boat and guide. We genuinely believe that there is no better place to be than floating amongst the untouched, wilderness of the Ottawa River with your close friends and family. After all, Canada got a late start to the summer, why not make the most of September?

Pasta, one of life's greatest gifts. We've decided to share our delicious secret to refueling after a big day! Poseidon Pasta Salad Ready In: 20 Mins, Serves: 6 This pasta salad will instantly turn you into a mythological Greek god, straight out of Hercules (or something like that). You will become a paddling hero. This is what our guides eat. ... Ingredients Salad - 1 & 1/2 cups rotini pasta - 1 cup cucumber, diced - 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped (OR 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved) - 1 red bell pepper, diced - 1/4 cup sliced pitted olives - 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled - 1/2 cup red onion, diced Dressing - 1/8 cup red wine vinegar - 1/4 cup olive oil - 1/4 tsp garlic powder - 1/2 tsp oregano - Salt & pepper to taste Instructions 1. Whisk together dressing ingredients. 2. Cook pasta al-dente according to package directions. Rinse under cold water. 3. Soak sun-dried tomatoes for 5-10 minutes (or until soft) 4. While the pasta is cooking, wash and chop your fresh veggies 3. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Add dressing and toss. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. Every time you eat this salad, please try and remember that we're open for rafting in September. We could use your newfound pasta salad strength in our boats!

Amazing staff day! On behalf of our team, we would like thank our owners, Dirk & Claudia, for providing us with a fun-filled & rejuvenating staff day! Some people ask us why they should come to OWL Rafting, and it's not the excellent rafting, staff, resort or even steak. The reviews are in and it appears that our BBQ sauce goes above and beyond.
