Celebrating National Seniors Day at Highland Place

Mark Your Calendar! National Seniors Day is October 1st! This is an occasion for our Highland Place staff to show our respect and gratitude to our seniors in our life. On this day, we are requesting our residents to "dress their best" for their "Black Tie Lunch" as we celebrate our seniors. In these trying times during the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still many ways to thank seniors for their contributions and to show them just how much they are appreciated. Whether a parent, a grand-parent, a co-worker, a volunteer, a neighbour or a friend -they deserve our sincerest thanks. Send a letter, say "thank you" or take some time to call them to say "hi"

Everybody vs COVID-19 The t- shirt slogan worn by a family member is a reminder that we are in this pandemic together. Together, if we wear masks, wash hands frequently, limit our contact with others and practice social distancing we can reduce the spread. Together we can make a difference and keep ithe virus out of our building and our local community.

Highland Place is an active, vibrant community known in K-W for our caring staff, home cooked meals and award winning programs with weekly themed events. COVID-19, has given our community some challenges but the staff have managed to keep COVID out of our building and our residents safe and smiling. We look a bit different due to safety protocols as tables are spaced further apart, repeat programs are offered as capacity is limited and entertainment is offered virtually. We wear masks and respect each other’s space but continue to focus on having fun while staying healthy and safe. Highland Place doors are open to scheduled tours with strict protocols in place.
