August 2020 Market Analysis August continued to look like no other August we have experienced before, including the real estate market. Unit and dollar sales were up higher than any other August, making it feel like the Spring Market. In fact, in August 2019 central Toronto had 165 sales of detached homes compared to August 2020 having 294, an increase of 78.2%. With labour day being late this year, meaning kids going back to school an extra week later and with a great deal ...of uncertainty in the air, August felt extra long. Great weather, multiple offers and new listings continue to be the norm as we march into September with an anticipation of a robust fall. Still, there are concerns about the economy both in Canada and to the south of us which is important, not to mention the current political and social upheaval that the United States is currently facing.
