Here is more information about the Nurturing Strong African Nova Scotian Parenting Program sessions starting next week: Goals of the NSANSF program: To create... a safe space for African Nova Scotian parents or caregivers to share the reality of race and culture on parenting. Provide opportunities for parent or caregivers to learn from each other, and to; Provide opportunities for parents or caregivers to work together to support each other in raising their children to reach their full potential. The sessions consist of: Session 1- Overview of Zoom platform the NSANSF program Session 2- Supporting our children’s education Session 3-Mental Health Session 4-Healthy Relationships Session 5-It takes a village Session 6- Understanding and responding to our children as they grow and develop Session 7- Guiding our children’s behaviour Session 8- Raising our children: The realities of race and culture Session 9- Racism and how to cope Session 10-Instilling in our children respect for themselves and others Session 11- The role of spirituality in parenting Session 12-Bringing it all together If you or a family you know could benefit from this program please share this information with them. Registration is taking place now for September 30th start date. Participation packages will be delivered by September 28th to all participants.
