It has been 135 years since Louis Riel was executed in Regina. Across the Métis homelands this day is marked as Louis Riel day and it is a day to celebrate Métis culture. In addition to advocating for Métis rights, Riel also fought for greater religious freedom, French language rights, First Nations rights, and greater gender equality throughout the Northwest. Riel died as an advocate for the Métis and as a defender of minority rights in general.

Elijah is a grade 12 student who says his superpower would be invisibility. When Elijah is not at school you will find him playing basketball or video games. Grad greetings from the Hunter Brothers! The Hunter Brothers are an award winning Canadian country music group consisting of 5 brothers from Shaunavon, Saskatchewan: Luke, J.J., Ty, Brock, and Dusty. They grew up farming in the Canadian prairies, spent their summers singing in churches across the country, and were heavily involved in the hockey community during the winter. Some of the brothers even played for some major league teams.

Speaking of Miss Annika a Olson, this young lady has been filling her time taking on every opportunity that comes her way. She created this video for the Why I Love Band video contest hosted by the Saskatchewan Band Association. Her entry earned her third place! Way to go Annika! Your Cru is proud!!

Graduation 2020 was just one of many things affected by COVID-19. The Sask Rivers Public School Division would like to recognize the hard work of our graduates ...and say congratulations on a job well done! One of the most special parts of grad is dressing up in that fancy dress or dapper suit.
