Compassionate Presence Conference Sept 21-22, 2018 Saskatoon, SK featuring Dr. Rolf Nolasco Neuroscience, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality... Early Bird Registration Deadline June 30th, 2018 This 2-day conference delineates the theology and neural correlates of compassion and the impact of cultivating compassion on those engaged in providing psychological support to those in distress. Out of the well-spring of compassion, the workshop moves into a re-visioning of depression, anxiety, and trauma as circuit disorders, and the role of brain-informed and compassionate-based approach to psychotherapy in alleviating even transforming these aches of the soul. It then eventuates into a series of guided compassion cultivation practices that when taken as soul habits has the potential of facilitating the flourishing of mental health practitioners. In other words, compassion is a fruit of a life well-lived that changes the brain, our self-understanding, and ways we relate to others and the world. The conference is interspersed with clinical vignettes and experiential exercises as a way of bridging theory and practice.
